Avalanche Activity

Moist and wet avalanches are the main danger. Slab avalanches are still possible. Dry and moist avalanches on northeast, north and northwest facing slopes. Moist and wet avalanches on west, south and east facing slopes.

The avalanche prone locations for moist avalanches are to be found in particular on steep sunny slopes. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep shady slopes. Gullies and bowls are especially unfavourable. As a consequence of warming, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase in particular on steep sunny slopes.

Snowpack Structure

In the last few days sometimes deep wind slabs formed in particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In gullies and bowls above approximately 1800 m a lot of snow is lying. The spring-like weather conditions from the early morning will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack.
