Most slopes are generally safe from avalanches. The few areas where you still might be able to trigger an avalanche are steep, wind-drifted slopes facing northwest through east to southeast just below ridgelines. If you notice cracking in the snow as you travel or experience a hard, hollow feeling when traveling across a slope, consider moving to a different area or staying on slopes less than about 35 degrees steep.
