Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in steep wind loaded avalanche prone areas which are underlain by old layers of weak faceted October snow. In these areas pockets of new soft slab and dense old slabs up to two feet in depth could be triggered by riders or skiers. These slab avalanches may not be triggered by the first riders or skiers who cross them. Avalanches are unlikely in areas not underlain by a weak layer of faceted October snow at the base of the snowpack.
