Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is LOW in the early morning and will rise to MODERATE this afternoon as warming temperatures and sunlight soften the snow surface. This weakening of the snowpack will result in the possibility of human triggered avalanches up to 18" in depth on steep terrain in the form of wet slides on Southerly slopes and soft slabs on Northerly slopes. Once triggered these slabs could pull out deeper snow layers particularly on Northerly slopes where they are underlain by a faceted snowpack.
