Avalanche Summary

Avalanche danger will increase throughout the day as snow piles up and lingers into Saturday.

Up to a foot of new snow is expected with westerly winds. You can trigger avalanches in the new snow, but the main concern remains finding a shallow spot in the slab on a steep slope and triggering a large avalanche. The most dangerous slopes face the north half of the compass and east.

Keep it simple during the storm by choosing low-angle planar slopes and avoiding likely trigger points, like the thinner margins of a slab, convex rollovers, and shallowly buried rocks.
