SC 25.02.23 Patchy well bonded snow, very firm on N to E aspects above 900m, softer patches elsewhere. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy snow cover will be well bonded in all locations. Greatest coverage, which will be found in North to East facing corries above 900 metres will be very firm and icy with isolated pockets of softer snow persisting on other aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It is expected to remain dry with the freezing level around 600 metres. Strong winds throughout, Northerly during the morning veering to the North-North-East in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: The freezing level was around 800 metres with snow showers throughout the morning. Winds were strong from the North. ObservedSnowStability: Older snow which is predominantly in North to East facing corries above 800 metres is very firm and icy. New soft accumulations were forming in lee locations but these were limited in both depth and distribution. The avalanche hazard is Low.
