The new snow and wind slabs represent the main danger.
The new snow and wind slabs represent the main danger.
Above approximately 1500 m snow will fall on Friday in some localities. Up to 20 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of new snow and stormy weather dry slab avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. Avalanches can be released by small loads. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in gullies and bowls above approximately 2000 m. In particular in high Alpine regions these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent. In particular on very steep slopes small and medium-sized natural avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow.
Snow depths vary greatly at intermediate and high altitudes, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular at low and intermediate altitudes hardly any snow is lying.
