Avalanche Activity

As the day progresses as a consequence of solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the avalanche danger to level 2 (moderate).

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation wet small and medium sized avalanches are possible as the day progresses. Single snow sport participants can release avalanches, including medium-sized ones. The old snowpack will become generally moist.

Snowpack Structure

The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften during the day. This applies in particular below approximately 2200 m.
