Avalanche Summary

This is a spooky period. Signs of instability have vanished, but triggering a large and deadly slide is still a real possibility. Finding the wrong spot on a slope could bring down a massive avalanche that will be hard to escape or survive. Shadier aspects at higher elevations are the most concerning and likely places to find this problem, but be careful on sunnier aspects as well. Intense sunshine and warm temperatures will keep wet avalanches on the menu as a second hazard to manage. Steering clear of steep slopes and runouts of large paths and seeking colder north-facing terrain with lower slope angles will reduce your chances of being caught or buried.
