The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE. Surface slabs one to three in depth could be triggered by backcountry travelers in wind loaded starting zones. In some areas layers of weak faceted snow persist within and at the base of the snowpack. On steep slopes these weaknesses present the potential for mid pack and full depth hard slab avalanches to be human triggered. Easily triggered slides continue to be reported from the slopes of Angle Mountain and Two Ocean Peak. A snowmobiler was buried recently in a deep slide on the North side of Barber Point.

West winds are expected to lessen overnight to 10-20 mph averages during the day. Temperatures are to remain cool with mountain highs in teens.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to be MODERATE throughout the forecast area on Wednesday. Slabs involving new and recent snow may be triggered by human activity to depths of four feet in steep terrain. These slabs may be most sensitive in higher elevation starting zones that have seen the most recent wind loading but could also occur at other elevations where weak layers may be easier to affect.
