Forecast Snow Stability: Localised accumulations of unstable windslab will develop throughout the forecast period on North-West through North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres. Areas most affected will be in steep wind sheltered locations such as below coire rims, the tops of gullies, flanks and crag aprons. Elsewhere the old snowpack will be mostly wind scoured, firm and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Light snow showers throughout the forecast period on strong to gale force South veering to become, West-South-Westerly winds. During the night the freezing level will lower from above the summits to 700 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A dry morning with light winds. Snowfall on moderate South-East winds during the afternoon. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Accumulations of windslab remain on West through North to East aspects above 800 metres. These accumulations are beginning to consolidate due to recent temperature fluctuations. Isolated instabilities remain within steep locations mainly around coire backwalls and the tops of gullies. Isolated and shallow accumulations of windslab developed through the afternoon on West to North aspects above 950 metres. Elsewhere the old snowpack is generally firm and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
