As a consequence of the moderate to strong northwesterly wind, the snow drift accumulations will increase in size. They are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The more recent wind slabs are to be found also areas not adjacent to ridgelines. They can be released by a single winter sport participant in particular on steep north, east and south facing slopes, especially at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. The wind slabs are to be assessed with care and prudence. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are to be expected above approximately 2400 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep slopes, and adjacent to ridgelines. Avalanches can be released in particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Especially on steep sunny slopes and on very steep shady slopes small and medium-sized wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses.

20 to 50 cm of snow fell in the last few days above approximately 2300 m. The weather conditions facilitated a gradual settling of the near-surface layers in particular below approximately 2600 m. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise on Wednesday to gradual moistening of the snowpack below approximately 2800 m. Especially at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions a lot of snow is lying. In the last three days on very steep slopes several small and medium-sized avalanches were reported. In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded still only poorly with the old snowpack, in particular at high altitude. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in shady places that are protected from the wind, especially above approximately 2400 m.
