Points saillants

Small avalanches will be possible in wind drifted snow on isolated lee terrain features by the afternoon as a few inches of snow falls. These will primarily be on northerly and east facing slopes. In steep/extreme terrain, small avalanches can cause you to loose your footing and take a fall down the slope.

This will have timing associated with it. Isolated terrain features may get enough wind blown snow accumulating by the afternoon to cause small avalanches. If you don't observe any wind deposited snow on top of the crust, then the wind slab isn't there. Any avalanche activity will be small. The snow surface is firm right now.....long falls down steep slopes are the real danger.
