Avalanche Activity

Moderate avalanche danger will prevail. At elevated altitudes the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent.

The fresh and older wind slabs remain in some cases prone to triggering. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The wind slabs can still be released. This applies in particular in case of a large load. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.

Snowpack Structure

The surface of the snowpack is generally characterised by alternating areas of erosion interspersed with areas of accumulation; in many areas there are hard surface crusts, some of which are hidden. Near the ridges, the wind over the past few days has led to the formation of snow overhanging mass. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.

Tendency

The weather will be cloudy. The wind will be strong at times.
