Forecast Snow Stability: Moderate to weakly bonded windslab will continue to develop in wind sheltered locations above 900 metres, mainly North to East aspects with lesser amounts on South-East aspects. Steep terrain such as gully tops and corrie rims will be most affected. Unstable cornices will develop in these locations. Isolated pockets of windslab will be found at lower levels with much of the snowpack becoming firmer. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snowfall throughout this forecasted period down to the glens. Winds, mostly gale force will be from the South-West to West-South-West. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy snowfall above 950 metres with a mix of sleet and rain below this level. Winds, gusting 70+ mph throughout the morning, mostly South-South-West. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh accumulations of windslab have formed in wind sheltered locations mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 950 metres. Otherwise the snowpack is moist and soft with any areas exposed to the strong winds scoured or bare. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
