Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Warm temperatures have created dangerous unstable conditions on a variety of aspects at all elevations. Yesterday a high marking snowmobiler triggered a hard slab north of Sheep Pass. He was buried eight feet deep and recovered alive by his companions. A second rider was partially buried, pushed into some trees and suffered injuries. Dangerous hard and wet slabs up to four feet in depth could be triggered today and could step down to deeper buried layers of faceted snow. Wet loose avalanches are possible on steep snow covered slopes as temperatures rise.
