Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Above an elevation of 9,000 feet pockets of dense slab up to two feet in depth exist on steep wind loaded aspects. These slabs could be triggered by snowmobilers or skiers. Once significant warming occurs wet slides will be possible at all elevations especially on steep sunlit aspects. Some potential exists for these wet slides to step down to deep weaker layers of faceted snow or the ground especially in steep rocky areas with a shallow snowpack.
