Avalanche Summary

Though evidence is trending down each day, there's still a chance you might trigger an avalanche where recent snowfall has drifted or settled into stiffer slabs above a crust buried about a foot deep, as an observer found on Teocalli mountain on Monday. The most dangerous slopes are steeper than about 35 degrees below corniced ridge lines, below wind-swept rollovers, or near cross-loaded gullies.

Wet avalanche concerns will spread to more slopes on Tuesday, then decrease slightly on Wednesday as brisk winds help keep snow surfaces a bit cooler for a longer portion of the day. Look for safer route options on slopes with refrozen or lightly sun-softened crusts. Move away from steep sun-warmed slopes by the time you sink past your ankles or see fresh roller balls.
