In some places mostly small wind slabs will form. Some fresh snow as well as the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in particular on north to southeast to southwest facing aspects above approximately 2500 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in steep terrain at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions and at transitions into gullies and bowls.

10 to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 2200 m. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In particular in shady places that are protected from the wind, high altitudes: Towards its surface, the snowpack is soft; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow.
