Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain well bonded and stable. The snow surface will remain very firm in the shade, softening only on sun exposed slopes. Some large cornices will remain, with the possibility of cornice collapse where in direct sun. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: High pressure conditions will bring another mild, dry day. Moderate Southerly winds will increase slightly through the day and veer South-Westerly. The freezing level will be above the summits although some terrain will remain frozen. Observed Weather Influences: A mild, dry sunny day with light winds. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable. The snow surface is very firm in the shade, softening in the sun. Some large cornices are present and are softening where exposed to the sun. The avalanche hazard is Low.
