Winds are drifting snow into thick, hard slabs on north through southeasterly-facing near and above slopes. Avalanches will be easy to trigger in freshly drifted snow, and some avalanches could step down to more deeply buried weak layers, creating a much larger avalanche. You can identify wind-drifted features by their sculpted or rounded appearance and hollow feel underfoot. Stay safer by avoiding any steep slopes where you observe fresh drifting.
