Avalanche Summary

The most dangerous slopes will be where you encounter over 18 inches of new snow on northwest through north to southeast-facing slopes generally above 11,000 feet. Most avalanches you trigger will be small, but if you find a wind-drifted slope just below the ridgeline, you might trigger an avalanche big enough to bury you on a steep, sustained slope. If you are planning on traveling on slopes much steeper than around 35 degrees, then pay attention to terrain traps such as a cliff below you, and consider how large the slope is and if it could produce a large avalanche before traveling directly on it.
