Points saillants

In very steep terrain near upper elevation ridgelines, backcountry travelers might be able to trigger recently formed, isolated pockets of shallow wind slab. Elsewhere the early season, faceted snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.

Avalanche Discussion

A weak shortwave will bring a chance for light snowfall overnight and into Monday. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the mid teens before rising into the mid 20s during the day. Ridgetop winds will veer to the northeast at 10 to 20 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW at all elevations on Monday. The early season snowpack, which is comprised of faceted snow and crusts, is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely.
