Yesterday morning clear skies allowed observers to see that very large natural avalanches had occured on Mount Moran, Eagles Rest Peak, Rockchuck Peak and on the Grand Teton. A skier was injured yesterday after triggering an avalanche on Pucker Face south of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With new snow and winds in the forecast the hazard will increase as the day progresses. At the upper elevations dense slabs to three feet in depth are likely to be easily triggered today. In the big peaks these slabs could release naturally and have the potential to step down to deeper layers and run full track. Slabs to two feet in depth could be triggered at the mid elevations. Wet slides are possible at the lower elevations on steep snow covered slopes if significant amounts of rain fall.
