Avalanche Summary

You are most likely to trigger an avalanche on slopes with wind-drifted snow. A sneaky 9 inches in this area on Monday means there is plenty of snow available to transport and create larger avalanches. Use caution around rounded pillows of snow that may crack when weighted. East-, southeast-, and south-facing slopes will have the most drifting, but be careful to look for cross-loading in gullies and around terrain breaks on other aspects. You can find safer riding on slopes that are sheltered from the wind's effects.
