Storm slab size and reactivity will increase with snow continuing through the day Tuesday.
Numerous storm slab avalanches, both naturally and explosive triggered, were reported over the weekend, up to size 2.
If you go out in the backcountry, please consider sharing your observations on the Mountain Information Network (MIN).
Approximately 20 to 40 cm of recent snow has buried a variety of crusts, surface hoar, old wind-affected surfaces, or facets.
The mid and lower snowpack is generally well settled with a series of variable crusts and facetted snow.
The snow depth at treeline is 50 to 150 cm.
