Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs represent the main danger.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant. Large and, in isolated cases, very large avalanches are possible. On sunny slopes loose snow avalanches are possible as a consequence of solar radiation.

Snowpack Structure

The wind slabs of the last few days are lying on unfavourable layers. Weak layers exist in the top section of the old snowpack.

Tendency

The weather will be sunny at times.
