Forecast Snow Stability: Isolated snow patches will be well bonded and stable. These will mostly be encountered above 900 metres on North-East to South-East aspects. Thin new snow cover expected on the very highest mountains along the Northern boundary of the forecast area. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Drizzle or light rain overnight and through the morning, becoming slightly heavier during the afternoon. Light summit level snow on the very highest mountains along the Northern boundary of the area. Freezing level above the summits, lowering to around 1200 metres by the end of the period. Gale force West-South-Westerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: A dry and mild day with summit level cloud. Moderate South-Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The majority of hills are snow free. Isolated patches of well bonded snow can be found, mostly above 900 metres, on North-East to South-East aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
