The mostly small wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant, in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls on extremely steep slopes. Caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. The older wind slabs are covered with new snow in some cases and therefore difficult to recognise. In particular along the border with France and along the border with Switzerland these avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and the danger is greater. Sometimes the avalanches in these regions are medium-sized.

In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 1800 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying. 2 to 5 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell on Tuesday above approximately 1200 m. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals. These wintry weather conditions will give rise to favourable bonding of the old snowpack.

The avalanche danger will persist.
