Forecast Snow Stability: Some overnight wet snow instabilities will coincide with the arrival of any rain on recent snow deposits above 950 metres. These in highest, steepest North-West to Easterly aspects. After some transitional instability, the remaining snowpack in all locations will continue to consolidate in steady slow, thaw conditions. Any recent new cornices above these aspects will be suspect. Good stability at all lower elevations and aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: The Strong Southerly winds will moderate overnight with the arrival of some light rain and drizzle. A cloudy, overcast but mostly dry day is then expected. The Freezing Level will remain well above summits throughout. Observed Weather Influences: It was cool overnight, with just isolated snow showers affecting summit areas. The day has been clear and bright with the return of high pressure bringing a drier, milder and freshening SE airflow to the area. ObservedSnowStability: Overnight snow showers again fell mostly on bare ground to around 800 metres, with only a light dusting around summit areas. The snowpack is now consolidating rapidly and stability is generally good. Some localised new snow instabilities exist only on isolated, steepest wind sheltered North-West to Easterly aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
