Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. The old snowpack will be generally stable, its hard surface softening only where exposed to direct sunshine. Minor weaknesses will persist below a crust in a shallow more recently deposited layer lying mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It is expected to remain dry, with very light winds. The summit air temperature will be below freezing. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry clear sunny day, with light generally North-East winds. After a frost at all levels, the freezing level rose to around 1200 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack, greatest accumulations of which lie on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres, is generally stable. At first its surface was frozen hard everywhere, but where exposed to direct sunshine its surface softened. Minor weaknesses persist below a crust in more recent deposits, mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
