Tendency

Saturday will be cold and windy, some snowfall will carry over into the daytime, but with only modest amounts (around the Arlberg: about 20 cm) With strong W/NW winds and cold, the fresh snow will be transported. Avalanche danger levels will increase.

Avalanche Activity

Not much snow on the ground, mostly low danger

Avalanche danger is low. On smooth, steep grass-covered slopes and in sparsely wooded zones, isolated small glide-snow avalanches are possible.

Snowpack Structure

Due to outgoing radiation and lower temperatures the snowpack surface freezes, then softens during the daytime hours. The snow is insufficient for backcountry tours.
