Avalanche Activity

Fresh wind slabs in high Alpine regions.

As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong northwesterly wind, mostly small wind slabs will form. Very isolated avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain at high altitude and adjacent to ridgelines.

Snowpack Structure

Only a little snow is lying in all altitude zones. The small quantity of fresh snow of last week and the scattered small wind slabs are poorly bonded with the old snowpack in some places above approximately 2300 m.
