Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be dry and cold with light winds. The freezing level will be around 500m but with warmer temperatures over the summits due to a temperature inversion. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry and clear day with light winds. There has been a temperature inversion with positive summit temperatures and colder at lower altitudes. ObservedSnowStability: Localised instabilities are present on some steep North and North-East aspects above 900m. Elsewhere the snowpack is generally stable.
