Points saillants

Avalanche danger progressively easing.

Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wet snow

    • Above 1,100 m
  • Gliding snow

    • Toutes altitudes

Avalanche Activity

Avalanche danger progressively easing.

Rapidly settling snowpack, with weak internal bonds. On the steep slopes at higher altitudes, releases and spontaneous releases of medium and large ground avalanches will be possible.

Snowpack Structure

The snow cover will progressively consolidate at all altitude ranges thanks to progressive clearings and night-time radiation. The thicknesses of recent new snow will settle rapidly, especially in the intermediate and valley bottom altitude bands. These areas will always be affected by snow flow phenomena, as the fresh snow will not be anchored to the thawed ground below. In the Alpine area, beyond the treeline, the expected weak ventilation will not particularly alter the surface layers, which will appear to be weakly cohesive, with considerable thicknesses. The connection with the old basal snow will improve, however crossing open, steep, leeward slopes is not recommended.
