Avalanche Summary

A storm is moving in on Wednesday, making avalanche conditions more dangerous than they have been. Strong westerly winds will drift the new snow into thick slabs on leeward slopes. More concerning is that these thick slabs will stack up on a snowpack with numerous weak, collapsible layers. We expect to see a few large natural avalanches on Wednesday, and on wind-drifted slopes, especially those that face northeast and east, you can trigger an avalanche large enough to bury you.

With our current snowpack setup, you can trigger avalanches from flat areas below steep slopes or from lower-angle adjacent slopes. Be aware of other parties in the area and travel conservatively on Wednesday.
