Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE this morning and will increase to HIGH in the afternoon. New snow, rain and winds will increase the load on an unstable snowpack. At the mid and upper elevations dense surface slabs up to several feet in depth lie upon weak layers of faceted snow. These slabs will be easily triggered today and could release naturally as they are loaded especially on northerly and easterly aspects. At the lower elevations wet slides be likely on steep snow covered slopes if significant amounts of rain fall. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED THIS AFTERNOON.
