Points saillants

A generally stable early season snow pack exists at the mid and upper elevations. On very steep North facing terrain the chance exists to trigger isolated pockets of soft slab in wind loaded areas near drop offs and cliff edges. Low elevation slopes lack enough snow coverage for avalanches.

Avalanche Discussion

Periods of precipitation are expected Friday in the form of rain in the valleys and snow in high mountains. Winds are to be Southwesterly from 20-30mph. The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to be LOW. In the high elevations, it will remain possible to trigger isolated pockets of soft slab to 18" depths in very steep wind loaded terrain.
