Avalanche Summary

A few inches of snow are possible overnight, but it doesn't change the avalanche hazard. Avalanche conditions are dangerous. Recent strong westerly winds built thick slabs of snow below ridges and in gullies. On north to east through southeast-facing slopes, drifts are resting on collapsible weak layers near the ground. Each of the past four days, observers reported remotely-triggered avalanches, shooting cracks, and rumbling collapses. Avoid traveling on or under drifted snow on steep slopes. Choose your safe spots carefully. This is a good time to consider adding extra margins for error in your trip planning process.
