Avalanche Summary
A Special Avalanche Advisory is in effect for Ruby and Ragged Mountains starting Friday and lasting through Sunday. A foot or more of new snow will dramatically increase the avalanche danger. You can easily trigger an avalanche on many steep slopes, and they can grow large enough to bury you. You can trigger these avalanches from a distance, so be aware of steep slopes above you and other parties nearby. Conservative decision-making is essential for traveling safely in the backcountry this holiday weekend.
