Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on high-elevation wind-drifted slopes. Strong winds on Friday drifted snow into thick, hard slabs of snow. Avoid slopes where the snow surface looks smooth and textured. Shooting cracks and sounds of the snowpack collapsing are sure signs of unstable snow.
