Avalanche Summary

Weak overnight freeze bumps the avalanche danger near and below treeline. If you are sinking into wet snow deeper than your boot tops, it is time to exit the mountains. Remember, the lower you go, the wetter the snow, so stay out from under steep slopes as you descend. Consider the consequences if you are caught in consequential terrain where taking a ride in a small avalanche can have a large and dangerous outcome.

Weak overnight freezes mean Wet Slab avalanches are now possible. Use extra caution in areas with a snowpack less than a meter deep; you could trigger a large, dangerous avalanche. Travel advice is the same: to avoid avalanches, start and end your day early.
