Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche on slopes where new and wind-drifted snow rest on top of old, weak snow. The most suspect slopes face north, northeast to east above, and near treeline. Watch for and avoid drifts on steep slopes below ridgelines, on steep rollers, and in chutes and couloirs.

Below treeline where the snow is very weak, be careful on steep slopes where it might be possible to trigger a loose sluff that can grow rapidly and drag you through rough terrain.
