Points saillants

Concern for triggering the wind slab at tree line will keep the hazard at moderate, but the best skiing is found in sheltered areas below tree line.

    • Sous la limite forestière

This layer is well bridged by a strong mid and upper snowpack but could still be triggered from shallow or rocky terrain.

Weather Forecast

Despite the cold temperatures forecast, the sunshine and light winds are making travel and outdoor activities quite tolerable. Sunday should see some variable sunshine, cool temperatures from -20 to -15 with light winds and no precip expected. The sun is starting to pack a punch over the day so don't forget your sunscreen.

Snowpack Summary

Super hard mid-pack is providing bridging strength over the weak basal facet layer at tree line and above. Recent settlement below tree line has greatly improved travel. Reasonable ski conditions can be found in sheltered features at tree line and below.

Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches reported today.
