Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE below an elevation of 8,000 feet and MODERATE above that elevation. An unstable wet loose snowpack exists at the lower elevations. Yesterday a slide occured in the Cow of the Woods avalanche path in the Hoback River Canyon at 2 PM. With warm temperatures and rain in the forecast natural wet snow avalanches could occur on steep snow covered slopes. Avalanches are less likely at the higher elevations, however some potential exists for humans to trigger slab avalanches on very steep avalanche prone slopes.
