Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Areas of unstable snow exist in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain where soft slabs to two feet in depth lie on an unstable faceted snow pack. Cold temperatures and settlement have increased the stability of this snow however these slabs could still be triggered by snowmobilers or skiers. Once triggered these slabs are likely to pull out deeper layers to four feet. The consequences of riding in avalanche prone terrain should be considered today.
