You can easily trigger a large and destructive avalanche on most slopes that face west through north to southeast. You can trigger them from long distances away, so be aware of steep slopes above you and other parties nearby. You will likely experience obvious signs of instability, such as cracking and collapse, to warn you of this danger, but if you don't see these signs, it doesn't mean it is safe. The easiest way to avoid being caught in a likely unsurvivable avalanche is to avoid traveling on or underneath slopes steeper than about 30 degrees on the aspects of concern.
