Points saillants
Strong west-southwest winds have formed new soft slabs on leeward aspects. At the upper elevations these slabs are up to 30 inches deep. At mid elevations these slabs are one to two feet deep. They exist as isolated pockets in some lower elevation starting zones. These slabs lie upon light density snow and slick hard crusts. Humans who venture into steep wind loaded starting zones are likely to trigger these slabs today. If there is significant sunshine and warming some natural activity may occur.
