Snowpack Structure

The new snow and wind slabs of the weekend will be deposited on a weakly bonded old snowpack above approximately 2200 m. Weak layers exist in the snowpack especially on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes.

Avalanche Activity

The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs formed during the snowfall represent the main danger. On steep slopes and on wind-loaded slopes the avalanche situation is dangerous.

The new snow and wind slabs of the weekend are to be evaluated with care and prudence above approximately 2200 m. On steep slopes and on wind-loaded slopes the avalanche situation is dangerous. Avalanches can in very isolated cases be released in deep layers reach quite a large size especially on steep north, northwest and northeast facing slopes.
