Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected except at the highest elevations. Patches of snow above 600 metres will continue to become depleted in the slow thaw, staying moist but stable. Above 1000 metres the existing snow pack will be firm, stable and starting to consolidate. Greatest amounts will be found on North-West to North-East aspects, such as corrie headwalls and scarp slopes. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will remain of gale to storm force, and from a generally South-South-Westerly direction for the duration of the forecast period. Precipitation is expected overnight before resuming after midday. This will fall mainly as rain with a dusting of snow above 1100 metres. The freezing level will be around 1200 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Gale to storm force South-South-Westerly winds with rain showers for the duration of the day. The freezing level was well above the summits overnight and during daylight hours. A temperature of 8 degrees Celsius was measured at 1200 metres at 0400 hrs. ObservedSnowStability: Thaw conditions have resulted in a soft, moist and stable snowpack at all elevations. The snow cover has become increasingly depleted with isolated snow patches above 600 metres. The greatest cover is mainly to be found on North-West to North-East aspects above 1000 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
